My dear friend, Jordan, found Rocky, currently a 9 year old, male Malinois, in Fairmount Park (specifically Belmont Plateau). He had been reported lost since he was 1 years old and his owner was no longer living at Rocky's old residence, as well as had no phone number in service. Rocky sat at the ACCT in Philadelphia for 12 days waiting for an owner to show up. After 12 days of nobody coming and making countless web postings, my friend, Jordan, adopted Rocky. At his first vet appointment with the SPCA, she was informed that he had a torn CCL (known as an ACL in humans), that the ACCT conveniently left out and so kindly reiterated that they were not responsible for any medical conditions once the animals are adopted. Jordan took Rocky to see a specialist and was informed of 2 options. The first being surgery that would cost $10 thousand dollar surgery performed only by an orthopedic surgeon. That was out of the question, as Jordan is a waitress and helps do the paperwork over at Daniel Russo Roofing. The second option was more realistic and reasonable. Rocky go to My Pet's Brace's 1 of 3 locations and get fitted for a custom orthopedic brace, specifically for his cranial cruciate ligament. We are trying to raise the $900 for his brace.
